Read our Independent Evaluation
Universal Comedy’s programme of workshops, developmental training courses and showcase events were recently independently evaluated by The Mental Health Foundation Scotland.
You can read the Executive Summary here (PDF) and download the full report here (PDF).
Some key findings include:
- 100% of participants enjoyed the comedy course
- 100% of participants learned new skills as the course
- 100% of participants reported an increase in confidence
The changes were noticeable in individuals, and were thought to be likely to have long-lasting impacts:
“Observing the difference in one client, I was the most satisfied I’ve been in my working life – she said she’s got her personality back. I think that if you went back to the clients in three years they’ll still be able to associate Universal Comedy with the good feelings they had.”
The Clinic @ The Fringe
Universal Comedy and our team of Comedy Graduates took to the stage for the third executive year at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe.
‘The Clinic’ in partnership with See Me showcases the extraordinary talents of our course participants, many coping with ill health and mental ill health challenges.
120 people came along – a sell-out audience – and enjoyed a one hour show demonstrating the comedy creations of Universal Comedy Graduates.
A huge thank you to the team at See Me for supporting the event.
Coming Soon: a special film about Universal Comedy’s The Clinic at the Edinburgh Fringe.
