Mehrdad and Sohalia have each decided to sell one of their most
valuable possessions: their kidneys.
Mehrdad is unemployed and needs
money for his wifeís illegal abortion.
Sohalia provides for her two sisters
and canít make ends meet. They turn
to one of the many state-sanctioned
kidney agencies in Iran. There, they
meet the prospective recipients to
negotiate the price - Iranian Kidney
Bargain Sale provides us with a
glimpse of the underbelly of Iranian
society and a place where the most
desperate party always loses out.
